Biography

Heather is a 2000 graduate of Bloomsburg University, where she majored in sociology. Heather graduated magna cum laude from Temple University School of Law, where she served on the Editorial Board of the Temple Law Review.

She began her legal career with one of Philadelphia’s most prominent defense firms, where she represented hospitals, doctors and nurses in defense of complex medical malpractice cases. In addition to honing her skills as a litigator working on high stakes medical malpractice litigation in Philadelphia, she gained invaluable insight into how such cases are defended.

In 2012, Heather decided to redirect her practice to representing individuals who have suffered serious personal injuries. Motivated by a desire to seek justice and fair compensation for serious injury victims and their families, Heather joined her husband in private practice at The D’Onofrio Firm. She represented injured plaintiffs in a variety of matters including general personal injury matters as well as pharmaceutical liability and medical malpractice actions.

Heather is an adjunct faculty member at Delaware County Community College, where she has taught Civil Litigation and Tort Principles and various other courses to students in the paralegal studies program.

Since 2011, Heather has consistently been selected as a Pennsylvania “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers Magazine, a recognition reserved for the top 2.5% of lawyers who are 40 or under, or who have been practicing for 10 years or less.

Heather lives in Delaware County with her husband and two children. She is active in her community and recently served on the Board of Directors of the Helen Kate Furness Library. She enjoys time outdoors with her husband and their two young children.
